The following is a list of provincial and community elder abuse resources:
- Anyone who is being abused and is in imminent danger should contact the police immediately by dialing 911.
- Contact the Family Violence Info Line at 310-1818 for information, advice and referrals. This 24 hour number is toll-free and available 7 days a week. Service is provided in over 170 languages.
- Call the Safeguards for Vulnerable Adults Information and Reporting Line at 1-888-357-9339 (toll-free) to report:
- the abuse of an adult receiving publicly funded care or support services (Protection for Persons in Care);
- complaints of non-compliance to the accommodation standards for supported living and long-term care facilities (Accommodation Standards);
- or the actions of a co-decision maker, guardian or trustee (Office of the Public Guardian).
- Health Link Alberta at 1-866-408-5465 (24 hours) provides telephone advice and information on health related topics.
