Protection for Persons in Care

Protection for Persons in Care responds to reports of abuse of adults receiving care or support services from publicly funded service providers, such as: hospitals, seniors' lodges, nursing homes, mental health facilities, shelters and other supportive living settings.

The new Protection for Persons in Care Act, proclaimed on July 1, 2010, requires that all abuse be reported to Protection for Persons in Care, the police or another regulatory body.
